Why it matters

A legal requirement — and a chance to do better

Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training exists because of real failures in care. Oliver was a young man with a learning disability and autism who died after being given medication against his will. His story led to a change in the law — and a requirement that every health and social care worker in England receives specific training on how to support people like him.

It's not just a compliance tick-box. It's about your team understanding how to provide genuinely safe, appropriate, person-centred care. Emma takes that seriously — and she'll make sure your workforce does too.
